Greensprings Montessori Centre (GMC) Lagos – a subsidiary of Greensprings Educational Services Limited, located at No 22, Oluseun Street, off Olujobi Street, Gbagada was officially opened in January 2016. The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Lai Koiki – the Executive Director, Mr. Harry McFaul – the Director of Education, management members, parents, staff and the registered seventeen adult learners.
The programme director – Mr. Abraham Ogunkanmbi revealed that the centre was undergoing accreditation by Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), USA then.
The centre’s Early Childhood Diploma course (21/2 through 6 years) operates in September and January for both part-time and full-time programmes.
The diploma programme entails academic paper presentation (theory), presentation of Montessori didactic materials and practical experience. An International Montessori Diploma will be awarded after accreditation upon successful completion of written coursework, final examinations and teaching practice. Adult learners will have 265 hours of contact lecture and 400 hours of practicum in a reputable Montessori school.
The Diploma is internationally recognised and is a suitable qualification for a Montessori class teacher wishing to work anywhere in the world.
